Viper Employee Spotlight: Alex Johnson
Alex joined the Viper team in June 2022 as a software programmer and was promoted to Software Team Lead in January 2024. His innovative approach to problem-solving, leadership skills, and project management are key contributors to his career advancement at Viper. Instrumental in the ongoing development of ViperVision software, Viper is fortunate to have him on the team! Q: Flashback to when you were 10 years old. What did you want to be when you grew up?
AJ: I wanted to be an engineer like my dad. I wasn’t sure what type at the time, but I had software and aerospace on my mind.
Q: Tell us about your hometown.
AJ: I am from Fort Worth, Texas. It is famously known for being the sister city to Dallas. It is large and constantly changing and also rather flat, dry, and YELLOW. One of the largest changes I noticed when first living in Alabama was the amount of rainfall and the GREEN landscape.
Q: What motivates you?
AJ: I like to leave my mark on a product. When someone uses and enjoys a product or feature that I designed, I get a boost of motivation to make bigger and better features.
Q: What do you think are the best skills you bring to your job?
AJ: The skills that have best served me at Viper are prioritization, communication, and project management (mostly breaking large projects into staged small tasks).
Q: Why do you love working for Viper Imaging?
AJ: I am respected and feel valued, and I’m given freedom on how I work and on project focus.
Q: When you’re not working, what are you happiest doing?
AJ: I enjoy taking my daughter on walks, and I love to play cards. I also play a lot of Pokemon Go!
Q: If we went to happy hour, what would you order?
AJ: A frozen margarita or a bourbon neat.

AJ: I would like to go on a peaceful family vacation in a cabin in the mountains, with board games to play.
