ViperVision Software Now Offers Seamless Integration with Top VMS Systems Using RTSP
Our technical team constantly strives to improve our software and provide customers with the best products and services, and we are thrilled to introduce our latest release!
A remarkable advancement in software excellence, this feature will revolutionize the way you interact with VMS systems and access data. With the latest update, ViperVision software seamlessly integrates with leading VMS platforms such as Avigilon and Milestone, thanks to the extraordinary power of RTSP.
All the acronyms… What is a VMS and RTSP?
First, VMS refers to video management systems. These are crucial for industrial manufacturing plants for enhanced security and surveillance. A VMS helps to monitor and safeguard processes and provides a means to investigate incidents. Some common ones are Avigilon, Milestone, and Exacqvision. RTSP is an acronym for real-time streaming protocol. In this case, the RTSP network control protocol is used for establishing and controlling media sessions between endpoints.
Which video management systems (VMS) are compatible with Vipervision?
ViperVision software seamlessly integrates with leading VMS platforms such as Avigilon, Milestone, Exacqvision, and Orchid Fusion. Further testing will confirm new additions. This feature is available in the ViperVision Ultra package.
Tell me about how ViperVision integrates with VMS through RTSP. What does this mean for ViperVision users?
Experience a smoother and more efficient process like never before as users can effortlessly access temperature data through their VMS. Instead of dealing with the hassle of logging into a webserver to view temperature data, users can now access critical information through a system they are already familiar with. While the ability to connect directly to a camera in their system has always been available, it provided the thermal image without any temperature measurement details. Now, anyone with permission to access the company VMS can obtain critical data at any given time. This advantage is particularly significant for real-time monitoring and response as the integration offers visibility of all the analysis tools embedded within ViperVision. Additionally, recording can be constant in the VMS if desired.
Wait. Can anyone with VMS credentials adjust the software configuration?!
It’s important to note that company engineers still maintain control of the ViperVision configuration. While those who view data through the VMS can initiate recording, they cannot adjust software settings.
How does this integration contribute to scalability as projects become more complex?
If a plant engineer decides to add cameras to their system, it’s simple to establish the connection within ViperVision to stream data from the new cameras to the same VMS.
How do you turn on this setting?
Enabling the integration is a breeze. Once a camera has established a connection in ViperVision, access the configuration settings. From there, navigate to the Streaming tab and choose RTSP from the available output options. Simply select an open port and toggle it to “on.” Note: This feature is available in the ViperVision Ultra package.
Step 1: Select an established camera connection, and click on the Streaming tab.
Step 2: Choose RTSP from the available output options. Enter the numbers for an open port, and toggle the switch to “on.”
Why is the fact that ViperVision integrates with VMS through RTSP so significant?
The ability to centrally manage and analyze video feeds contributes to a more secure and efficient operational environment. Instead of logging into a web server or connecting to the thermal cameras directly and getting limited information, access to critical data is available to users through a system they are already familiar with.
